PressDisplay Makes Visual Copies Of Newspapers Available Online
Spotted via Robert Scoble, PressDisplay is an interesting
site that lets you view newspapers from around the world as they appeared in print. There’s an amazing collection of publications (alas, no Orange County Register for me), and
a full list is here. You can also apparently keyword search for matching pages within a current edition
that you are viewing. Searching across a range of publications is not possible, from what I can tell, regardless of what subscription
plan you purchase. There’s a free trial for anyone, then plans
range from $10 to $30 per month for access. The lowest plan lets you read 31 newspapers per month — either 31 different paper or 31 editions of the same paper. See the
FAQ page for more. A press release on the upgraded service is available
here.
