Our columnist-from-across-the-pond Mike Grehan has been on an unofficial campaign to re-dub this publication "BritZ." Looks like he got his wish, sort of.
The ClickZ Network and our Search Engine Strategies conference was acquired yesterday by...Brits! Incisive Media, to be more precise. Our staff had a series of meetings with Tim Weller, Incisive's chief executive, yesterday. Having been through one or two of these "good morning, you work for someone else" experiences before, I know how unusual it is to come out of such a meeting enervated (as opposed to trepedacious). But that's what happened with every last one of us. Tim was very adept at putting fear to rest and jazzing us up with his vision of global expansion for both the publications and the conferences. Plus, we New Yorkers get to bid midtown a remorseless adieu and decamp to much-more-desirable SoHo (that's NY SoHo, btw).
