The article claims The Sopranos is "likely to be the first advertiser to have paid the search giant to use its map technology for promotional purposes." However, Danny did report that some companies might have used Google Maps to promote themselves, like Target, even though it may have been unintentional. The article says that HBO is developing a Google map of New Jersey "to remind viewers about some of the story lines." And they are reportedly buying keywords like Sopranos Map to direct traffic to the site.
