With E3 about one week away, the industry is abuzz with teasers of goings on during the show.
It is a trade-only event, heavy with game developers and publishers, retail buyers, press and Hollywood-types. Many hard core gamers live and breathe by the news announced at the show, the games demoed and glimpses of the booth babes. These gamers must rely on media sites' reports and streaming video of what goes on at the show. Any site worth its weight in salt has plans to stream most of the major events and post all kinds of video content along with editorial. Microsoft plans to stream to users of its Xbox Live site. It also host a free, Live Gold Weekend the week of E3. That's a follow-on to the free, Live Gold Weekend it hosted at the beginning of April, which Verizon sponsored. I haven't confirmed a sponsor for the week during E3, but I bet there is one as its a great opportunity for marketers to get brand exposure.
