Top Stories at SES Chicago 2009 on Day 2

About 2,100 people are attending SES Chicago 2009, up from last year. The top story on Day 2 was the morning keynote by Peter Morville, author of Search Patterns.

Morville is widely recognized as a father of information architecture. He’s authored the best-selling books, Information Architecture for the World Wide Web and Ambient Findability, and has consulted with such organizations as AT&T, Harvard, IBM, Microsoft, the National Cancer Institute, Vodafone, and Yahoo!. He blogs at findability.org.

Morville is president of Semantic Studios, a leading information architecture and user experience consultancy. He is a co-founder and past president of the Information Architecture Institute and has served on several advisory boards and as a faculty member at the University of Michigan. Need I say more?

For a summary of his keynote, read “Morning Keynote by Peter Morville — SES Chicago 2009” by Susan Esparza of The Bruce Clay Blog.

Follow his keynote, Byron Gordon of SEO-PR interviewed Morville about his book and the future of search.

In addition to the morning keynote, several of the conference sessions generated more top stories for SES Chicago 2009. These include live blogging by the team at Search Engine Roundtable. This includes “Real Time SEO: No More Yesterday’s News from SES Chicago ’09” by Barry Schwartz of RustyBrick and Marty Weintraub from aimClear.

Another top story was “The Future Of Online PR” by Doug Caverly of WebProNews.

Another top story was “Snow, SEO and CEOs @SES Chicago, Lisa Buyer Presents on News SEO Panel” by Lisa Buyer of The Buyer Group PR + SEO News Blog.

If you want to hear SES Chicago’s opening keynote by Jeff Jarvis from Monday morning, you can download the podcast at WebmasterRadio.fm.

Webmaster Radio booth.jpg Finally, in the “you had to be there” category, check out the photo to the left. Yes, that’s Clix Marketing’s David Szetela and Bruce Clay’s Bruce Clay bantering back and forth in the Webmaster Radio booth. But does that look like a video camera in the foreground?

Hey, I’m just askin’ because there’s something going on in the Webmaster Radio booth — and if you weren’t at SES Chicago 2009, then you might not have the scoop that attendees got.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.

These are not the droids you are looking for.

Nothing to see here, move along…
