Yahoo! Encourages Charity Through Acts of Kindness Campaign

Yahoo! has launched a new charitable effort called “You In?” The idea is to encourage random acts of kindness that are then shared with social networks. Once shared, hopefully others will get inspired to do acts of kindness on their own.

“We believe that one small act of kindness can ignite a ripple of generosity and we hope to inspire the Yahoo! community to create a wave of goodwill around the world,” said Meg Garlinghouse, senior director of Yahoo! for Good.

If you’re interested in participating, here’s what to do:

First, do an act of kindness. Then go to kindness.Yahoo.com and share what you did. It will then be placed as your Yahoo! status – and can be shared as a status update on Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.

At the kindness.Yahoo.com page, you can also view a map of random acts that have already been shared.
