According to a story by Thomas Catan and Jessica E. Vascellaro of The Wall Street Journal, "The Federal Trade Commission appears to be laying the groundwork for an antitrust challenge to Google Inc.'s proposed purchase of mobile-advertising company AdMob."

Their story cites "people familiar with the matter" and "several other people with knowledge of the effort." My question is why would unnamed sources leak this information to The Wall Street Journal?
Obviously, it isn't to see their name in the papers. Inquiring minds want to know.
