Karen Wickre To Share Secrets about Blogging @ Google

Karen Wickre, Senior Manager of Corporate Communications at Google will share secrets about Blogging @ Google today, July 29, 2010, at 1:00pm EDT / 10:00am PDT. There is still time to register for the free webcast and webinar, which is sponsored by Connected Marketing Week.

Wickre will tackle questions like:

  • How should companies be communicating their news today?
  • How do you ensure that bloggers follow best practices, serve the brand’s audience, and maintain a blogger’s voice?
  • How does the Google Blog network really work? What does it take to inspire an army of corporate bloggers under the banner of one brand?

She will also share a few words of advice about Twitter.

Karen Wickre.jpg Wickre has worked at Google since 2002, specializing in business writing and media relations. She first launched Google’s corporate blog back in 2004. She also developed Google’s corporate strategy using Twitter in 2009.

Today the company has “digital embassies” for virtually every product. This armada spans more than 150 blogs with about 10 million uniques each month, about 80 Twitter accounts with about 2.3 million followers, and Facebook pages for consumer products such as Gmail.

Wickre will also be speaking at Connected Marketing Week on Monday, August 16, during the ClickZ BlogworkZ Forum.

Okay, okay, so “share secrets” is probably an overstatement. Wickre isn’t going to leak Google’s patented PageRank algorithm. But she is unusually candid.

Actually, Nicholas Fox, Maile Ohye and other speakers from Google are also unusually candid. So, forget the hype. Just register for the SES Webcast.

Get it? Got it? Good.
