One of the reasons why senior executives attend their industry's most important events -- even in an "unusually uncertain" economy -- is to "see new products." Hey, I didn't make this up. It's in the findings of a survey conducted by Tradeshow Week.
So, what are the new products and services that I plan to see at SES San Francisco?
Let me share a little secret. Even though I'm a PR guy who writes optimized press releases, I'm also a correspondent for Search Engine Watch, so I read press releases, too.
Yep, I see 'em coming and going.
So, I've started to use Google News to search for press releases from companies that plan to exhibit at SES San Francisco. Let me share one of them with you.
It's a press release from RadioActive Media, which will be an exhibitor Aug. 17-18, 2010, at SES San Francisco, which will be held at the Moscone Center during ClickZ's Connected Marketing Week.
In terms of content, the press release tells a story that I'm interested in reading.
I love market research. And the press release tells me that radio advertising enhances Internet browsing by an average of 52 percent. In addition, radio is four times more cost-effective at stimulating brand browsing than other media, according to the Radio Advertising Bureau. Who knew?
The press release also tells me that a few of RadioActive Media's team members -- including Marc Jacobs, Steve Pollak and Jeff Pollak -- will be at Booth #212 sharing successful case studies that demonstrate the benefits of using direct response radio, and specifically talk radio personalities, to drive traffic to websites. And you know I love case studies.
But, to highlight radio's entertainment value, SES attendees can compete at the popular Guitar Hero game for a chance to win any of several prizes, including a Carnival cruise certificate for two, Sirius radios and valuable radio memorabilia. They had me at "Guitar Hero."
Attendees can check Twitter hashtag #SESSF and @radioactivemed or Facebook (http://j.mp/radiofans) for announcements and photos during the show.
