Google's 'Sponsored Links' Renamed 'Ads'

by ,  Comments

Google is rolling out a change to its search ads on all English language domains, Search Engine Land reports. "Sponsored links" will now simply be known as "Ads."

A Google spokesperson said this will roll out to more languages in the future.

Here's an old screenshot of a search for [golf shoes] that shows "Sponsored Links":

The "Sponsored Links" name dates all the way back to the beginning of AdWords in October 2000.
