Special Events, Express Clinics, Theatre Presentations, and Training Workshops at SES London 2011

In addition to the opening keynote and three-days of conference sessions, SES London 2011 features a superabundance of special events, express clinics, theatre presentations, as well as SES, IDM, and OMI training workshops. If you tally everything up, there are nearly 100 sessions presented by the industries top insiders on a host of key areas.

Let’s just take a look at some of the special events that provide high-level networking opportunities to make important connections, especially since they are attended by more than 1,500 top CEOs, marketers, and engineers from leading brands like the BBC, Facebook, Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Sony, and Virgin Mobile, among others. Making key contacts, especially with the search engines themselves — including Google, Bing, and Yahoo — could be invaluable in addressing future site issues.

SES London MeetUp Group.jpeg On Monday, Feb. 21, there is the SES London Meet and Greet. This event is open to all SES London attendees, who can hang out, talk about sessions they’re looking forward to seeing, ask questions and share their experience and interest in marketing (over some drinks of course). Want to attend? Join the SES London Meetup Group to RSVP.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 22-23, there is a Drop-In Recruitment Centre at SES London 2011 organized by JobsinSearch. Representatives will be available to talk to visitors about job vacancies and the current job environment. They will also be on hand to offer advice for people who are looking to move into the search engine industry. A free CV/Resume advice clinic will also be available for people who would like some feedback in preparation for a future career move. Located at Booth #4, the Career Centre is open open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Also on Tuesday, Feb. 22, Yahoo! Search and Bing will be holding a sponsored session entitled “A Powerful New Choice in Search.” Agencies and advertisers can learn how Yahoo! Search and Bing are coming together to offer a significant alternative in search. You’ll hear tips on how to prepare for the transition, and have your questions answered by Yahoo! Search and Bing experts.

That evening from 5 to 6 p.m., iProspect is sponsoring the Networking Cocktail Reception. This event is open to all SES London attendees.

On Wednesday, Feb. 23, there is a sponsored session entitled “Over 50 Killer Internet Marketing Tools To Measure Your Online Marketing Strategies.” Jim Boykin, Founder, CEO, Link Ninja, and Tool Ninja of We Build Pages, will discuss 15 of the most critical areas which you must analyze for the successful execution of your online marketing strategy and will show you 50 of the best internet marketing tools, explaining exactly how to use them to give you leverage over your competitors and maximizing your traffic.

From 1 to 2:30 p.m., WOMMA UK will be holding a Theatre Presentation entitled “How Word of Mouth Impacts Search.” The speakers are: Graham Hansell, Founder Sitelynx, Steven Van Belleghem, Managing Partner at InSites Consulting, and Kyle Mcginn, Managing Director of Reevoo.

Last but not least is the London SEO Party. This networking event is open to conference pass holders only. (You must show your conference pass at the door.) It will be held at HMS President from 7 to 11:30 p.m. Thanks to the generosity of the sponsors — Raven and Linkdex SEO Tools — the evening will start with a free bar. According to once source, event capacity is 200, although Nichola Stott of theMediaFlow says 350 is the maximum capacity. In either case, you will want to arrive early! Lisa Myers of Verve Search and Joanna Butler of Search Engine Chocolate are helping Stott organize this event.

So, take advantage of these opportunities to network and mix with your peers and the leading vendors and suppliers in the industry. You may even learn some of the latest tips and trends from Yanks — even fans of The Ohio State University Buckeyes. Check out this
