Just a little over a week after announcing plans to hire more than 6,000 and make 2011 the largest hiring year in Google's history, the company has received more than 75,000 job applications worldwide.
This is the highest number of applications Google has ever received in one period of time, topping a previous high set in May 2007 by 15 percent (roughly 64,000), Google spokesman Aaron Zamost told Bloomberg. Google's previous biggest hiring year was also 2007.
Google is the fourth most desirable company to work for, according to Forbes.
