In the past 24 hours, several more advertisers have uploaded their Super Bowl commercials to YouTube. In addition, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Audi, and HomeAway are using Google AdWords campaigns to promote their Super Bowl ads.
A last minute check of the Viral Video Chart's list of most contagious global viral ads of the past 24 hours still has "Volkswagen Commercial: The Force" ranked #1 with 66,098 shares in the past 24 hours.
If you click on the "VW Commercial Sneak Peak" pay-per-click ad on Google it will take you directly to the YouTube video.
"Volkswagen Commercial: Black Beetle" remains ranked #2 with 3,165 shares in the past 24 hours.
But the big surprised is "2011 GM Chevy Super Bowl Commercial 'Bumblebee,'" which wasn't ranked in the top 100 yesterday and is ranked #11 today.
If you click on "Chevrolet Super Bowl Ads" in Google AdWords, it will take you to a landing page that features the YouTube video.
If you want a second opinion, go to The Brand Bowl, which is presented by Mullen and Radian6. You'll see Volkswagen ranked #1 with a score of 234. Ranked second is Chevrolet with a score of 133. Ranked third is Doritos with a score of 85.
Finally, Charlie White of Mashable used Meltwater Buzz to identify the "Top 10 Super Bowl Brands With the Most Twitter Pre-Buzz."
This ranked Volkswagen #1 with 2,803 tweets, Audi #2 with 1,350 tweets, and Groupon #3 with 1,106 tweets.
Audi is teasing its Super Bowl commercial by telling the backstory of "Audi - Super Bowl 2011 - Startled Smart Teaser 1" on YouTube.
Groupon is kinda-sorta providing the rejected backstory of "Groupon Super Bowl - Rejected Theme2" on YouTube.
Oh, Eric Wilbur's Boston Sports Blog's "Super Bowl Pick Roundup" says, "clearly, no commercial will top Volkswagen's entry."
There you have it. Volkswagen is still favored to win using all three-and-a-half methodologies. But only half of the ads that will run during the Super Bowl have been "leaked" ahead of time on YouTube. So, there's still a change for a surprise winner.
As you can go to YouTube AdBlitz's channel to watch, vote for, and share all of the 2011 Super Bowl Commercials right after they air. It will be interesting to see if all the pre-game buzz is a leading indicator of actual results.
As for the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers, they are expected to play some football in between the Super Bowl commercials.
