The 2011 Cricket World Cup begins today in Bangladesh, where India faces off against Bangladesh in Mirpur, Dhaka. Opening ceremonies took place Feb. 17. The Cricket World Cup is being hosted by three nations: India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. It will feature 14 teams, with the final contest scheduled for April 2 in Mumbai.
Interestingly enough, Google Sri Lanka and Google Bangladesh are not sporting the Cricket Doodle today. Instead they join the rest of the Google world, celebrating the 135th birthday of Constantin Brancusi.
