Majestic SEO Unveils Site Explorer

Backlinks make the web go ’round. Sites achieve top search engine rankings in large part due to the backlinks pointing to their site, also known as a “backlink profile.”

So, it makes sense there is a large demand for finding out who has the good links, where they found them, and even monitoring the links pointing to your own domains. There are several of these backlink explorer tools available to us at the moment: Yahoo Site Explorer, Open Site Explorer, and now Majestic Site Explorer.

Majestic SEO has been around for quite some time, however, they just recently announced they would be unveiling their version of Site Explorer. Majestic new tool was officially introduced yesterday.

This brings value to site owners and SEO agencies as Majestic tends to show one of the most complete reports of overall links in a site’s backlink profile. Free accounts are available, but you aren’t able to see all the data available. There is still value for free accounts.

Open Site Explorer is a great tool, but it will only show you the links passing the most “link equity,” or 1,000 for a standard premium account. Yahoo Site Explorer, the only completely free site explorer tool, has long been teetering on the brink of extinction. Claims were made after the Yahoo-Bing merger that YSE would be moved to an internal tool within the Bing Webmaster tools.
