Google Releases Updated Version of Chrome (the Browser)
A new release of Google Chrome is out and there are quite a few features you'll want to know about.
First up, it's faster. When you open a new page while other pages are loading, Chrome prioritizes requests for the new page. (I usually want the older pages to load first, but whatev.) DNS caching, more efficient DOM bindings and using V* or proxy auto-config should also contribute to a quicker browsing experience.
You can customize your New Tab Page to set which sites you would like quick access to. Drag website thumbnails to give them a spot on the page. The change will remain permanent no matter what your browsing habits are.
The Omnibox, which provides suggestions based on keystrokes is optimized to help distinguish between keyword searches and websites. New themes let you dress up your browser, and HTML 5 capabilites are being built into the beta.
Have you tried Chrome 3.0? Let us know your impressions of the updated beta by leaving a comment below.

Google Chrome Is Now An Operating System
The Official Google Blog announced the launch of the Chrome Operating System - late night in California - the entry is timestamped 9:30 pm PST - but an hour and a Twitter link ago - I found it. A number they claim - "30 million regular Chrome browser users" - seems high. But who cares Chrome is now an operating system.
It will run on the web with interaction through browsers based in most OSs. If they can flip a decent percentage of the browser users, get a good number of laptops and other methods of connecting to the web it could be something Microsoft will notice diving deep into a field they have just begun to test.
As Google blogs "Google Chrome OS is a new project, separate from Android. Android was designed from the beginning to work across a variety of devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks. Google Chrome OS is being created for people who spend most of their time on the web, and is being designed to power computers ranging from small netbooks to full-size desktop systems. While there are areas where Google Chrome OS and Android overlap, we believe choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone, including Google"

The Fast and the Furious: Google Chrome Adds More Lead to Its Foot
Google has announced that its internet browser, Chrome, is now faster. How much faster? About 30% faster. Chrome is also boasting some new features:
- Form autofill
- Full screen mode
- Remove thumbnails from the New Tab page
Google launched Chrome last September and it has steadily been gaining browser market share (because, you know, if there's anything Google needs to do, it's dominate even more of the internet). A few days later, Google Analytics was tracking Chrome visits.
By the end of 2008, Chrome was released out of beta, then just last month a new version was launched into beta.
